About

ITALIANO

E continua a farlo.

ENGLISH

I have always felt as though I lived somewhere in between things.

Between who I am and who the world expects me to be.
Between light and shadow, movement and stillness, what remains and what inevitably passes.

Perhaps that is also why I photograph.

I was born in Naples, into a name and an identity that never fully felt like mine. I had to journey through myself to finally find the place where I could recognise who I was.

Photography became my way of being in the world.

It saved me in moments when I did not know how to save myself.
It was an open door through the darkest periods, a place where I could breathe when everything felt too narrow.

Through a camera, I learned how to look again.

A face encountered by chance.
A figure crossing a street.
The sea, a body, a statue, an animal.
A light that lasts only a few seconds.

Small things.

And yet, sometimes, it is in the smallest things that life finds a way to remind us that we are here.

For me, photography is this:
collecting fragments of life before they disappear, holding close the things that move me, giving shape to what I cannot always put into words.

Photography saved me.
And it continues to do so.

Perhaps that is why I keep photographing.

To remind myself that even on the days when life seems to lose its light, somewhere there is still something worth looking at.
